Los Angeles City Councilmember Bill Rosendahl, USO – Greater Los Angeles, and the Girl Scouts of America took part in a cookie drop at Los Angeles International Airport that sent a group of departing Marines away with boxes of Girl Scout Cookies.
Angelenos played a big role in the event: every box was donated especially for this occasion. The Girl Scouts delivered a total of 1500 cases — at 12 boxes of cookies per case.
“Thanks to the generous donations, we now have a large stockpile of comfort food for our fighting men and women,” said Rosendahl. “I want to extend my sincere appreciation to the Girl Scouts and the USO for their commitment to service and for helping us remind our troops that we support what they do.”

The Marines were headed to a variety of training camps and bases back on April 16, including 29 Palms and destinations on the East Coast and in the South. There were many, many boxes left over which will be saved for the next group of departing men and women.
