UPDATE 2: Penmar Park Storm Water Project

We’re getting close!

A spokesperson with the Los Angeles Department of Public Works says crews are almost finished with the $14 million Prop O project at Penmar Park in Venice.

“The park has been backfilled but we have to keep the fence up to let the grass take and establish,” said Michelle Vargas. “Absolute project completion will be in January,”

Previously, we mentioned the project would be completed in early 2013.

The storm water facility contains the largest storage tank in the City. The facility will also filter and clean runoff headed for the waters off Venice Beach.

Earlier this year, Councilmember Bill Rosendahl gave his YouTube viewers a behind the scenes look at this green project in the 11th District.
