Constituents in the 11th District proved once again to be a generous bunch.
As you may recall, Councilmember Bill Rosendahl recently sent out a request for donations to help homeless and low-income families gear up for back to school. On Thursday, Team Rosendahl picked up several bags and boxes from district offices and filled a car trunk with pens, paper, and even several backpacks loaded with all the materials a student would need for success this coming academic year.
The donations benefited the St Joseph Center in Venice — which serves low-income and homeless families on the Westside. Staffers with St Joseph Center were extremely appreciative of the response from the community.
“Kids in the families we serve will have a better back to school thanks to you,” according to a post on the center’s Facebook page.
“This response to my donation drive does not surprise me,” said Rosendahl. “My constituents always turnout whenever there’s an opportunity to help others. We are blessed to live in such a wonderful community that takes pride in looking out for our neighbors.”
