Here’s a rundown of the stories making headlines in the 11th District and the City of Los Angeles.

Councilman Bill Rosendahl paid tribute last week to civil rights icon Gordon K. Hirabayashi, who challenged the constitutionality of the Japanese American internment during World War II. Gordon passed away Monday at 93. See Rosendahl’s YouTube tribute here.

The New York Times featured LA potholes in a recent story and reported on efforts to fix , followed by this piece on The City Maven which provides a definition of the problem and why some are a challenge to fix.

And finally, progress is being made on the Expo Line testing. This picture (The Source) pulling into the 7th Street/Metro Station in downtown Los Angeles. The line will eventually reach the Westside in the coming years.
