George S. McGovern, an icon in American politics who lost his Presidential election in a thundering landslide, has died at the age of 90 according to the Los Angeles Times.
Councilmember Bill Rosendahl had the privilege of working for McGovern and ran the state of Illinois for the campaign. Rosendahl also helped raise money for the campaign during the final weeks leading up to Election Day. McGovern and Rosendahl remained friends ever since.
