Metro announced today that it is requesting Los Angeles Department of Transportation Traffic Control Officers be deployed starting Monday, August 6th at 4 locations along Sunset and Santa Monica Blvds. The officers will remain during peak hours (3:30pm to 7:30pm.) until the Wilshire ramps are reopened.
Officers will be stationed at the following intersections:
Sunset/Barrington
Sunset/Church
Santa Monica/Beloit
Santa Monica/Cotner
The deployment of the officers comes sooner than originally planned thanks to the efforts of Councilmember Bill Rosendahl and his staff who have been fighting to get officers stationed at some of the busiest intersections.
Rosendahl’s office fought for this in response to Brentwood Homeowners Association, Brentwood Community Council and the Brentwood Village business community complaints over the last year. Constituents have said this will help keep traffic flowing smoothly and safely during the Sepulveda Pass Improvement Project.
