The West LA Emergency Shelter is up and running — and providing some much needed assistance to the homeless — as reported in the LA Times. In the story, the reporter introduces the reader to some of the people receiving assistance, as well as explaining the influx of homelessness in Venice and Westchester.
Earlier this month, Councilman Bill Rosendahl and Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa announced that they had secured funds for the shelter program: reprogramming $90,000 in savings from federal block grant money and $20,000 from Rosendahl’s Roadmap to Housing program.
