The City of Los Angeles’ Bureau of Sanitation Department is hosting a city-wide Professional Clothing Drive which benefits the economically challenged and homeless in need of a fresh start and a new job. The event is part of the City’s Zero Waste Program.
The event is part of an annual campaign held each October called Second Chance Week to promote the awareness of reusing, repairing or donating items before throwing them away. Donating used professional clothes could not only give the clothes a second chance, but a fellow Angeleno, as well.
Clothes the Deal, Weingart Center Association and Dress for Success are the non-profit organizations benefitting and distributing the items.
The drive is being held this week (Oct. 24-28) at Councilman Rosendahl’s West LA District office (1645 Corinth Ave, room 2o1) as well as these drop off locations throughout the City.
